Are Theists against psychiatry because they know, subconsciously, that Theism is a form of Mental Illness?
Documentation and Sources for the supposition that Theism, Extreme Political Ideology, and a belief in the Paranormal are based on Genetics/Brain Damage, Indoctrination, and Mental Illness.

I don’t really consider Scientologists to be "theists". I don’t know of any other theists who are against psychiatry.

Those report monkeys have really had an effect on you, huh?

I can’t speak for all theists because we’re not all the same. But personally, I’m not against psychiatry. You can call my belief a mental illness. I’ve been called worse.

Penn and Teller? Seriously? I would have left that one off. Since when are they experts on theism?

Then why do people send the kids to Catholic or Sunday school?. According to you the best religious training would be mental institutions.

It may be a result of indoctration, but so is speech, atheism, and normal social behavior. I know theists who seek out physchological help when they need it, and even pastors and rabbis who will recommend physchologists to followers who need help. You’re painting with a really big brush there, and I really hope that religious people can accept that not all of us are as insensitive as you are if I can accept that not all religious people are as insensitive as certain nuts who shall go nameless.

I wouldn’t say that is is genetic/brain damage, as those two are not related. The closest to would be that Paranoid Schizophrenia is caused by physical brain damage and often runs in families, but is not genetically.
And I would also not go to say it is a mental illness, just a form of insanity!
I trust that many other atheists would at least disagree with your presentations, ergo no, atheists do not feel such way about psychiatry!
