BA of Psychology OR BS of Psychology to get into med school?
I live in ontario canada, and I am going to university, probably ryerson, to get a degree in psychology… a BA is easier than a BS, but i want to go to med school to become a forensic psychiatrist so I was wondering can I get into med school with a BA
It’s just… I hate math lol if i can avoid it anyway possible I will and in order to do BS i need advanced functions which would KILL my avg, maybe i’ll do something in uni to help me

I’m planning on applying to medical school as well. I have a B.Sc. Psychology [honours] degree. I recommend a B.Sc. because forensics and medicine require a lot a scientific analysis and knowledge. It’s important for med students to be well-rounded; so take lots of other courses as well [I ended up taking many more courses than I needed to graduate]. If you choose a B.Sc., you will be required to take at least a few math courses. Math [calculus] and physics will be very important to you if you go into forensic psychology [calculating velocity, for example, to determine how fast a person was driving their car and the impact it created on the brain from coup and counter-coup effects etc.]. You’ll also have about twice as much homework than an arts’ student and spend about twice as much time in the classroom [labs; lab reports and tests as well as regular lectures, essays and exams that art students would get].

Do the BS- the science focus will help in med school, and the more intensive study will be good prep.

The only difference between at BA and BS is the language block. A BA includes a language of your choice while a BS includes more sciences, so I would go for the BS for the science options and you can bypass the language block.
My best wishes to you and medical school. I hope you get there.
