do you think there are other disorders going on for me ‘besides’ than borderline personality?

disorder?
because when i read up and research about borderline personality disorder, i dont notice or see the symptoms im having..
am i being neglected?
i was diagnosed with BPD months ago by a psychiatrist and theyve set up psychotherapy. im 30 now and have suffered like this all my life.

im really worried i have other disorders to and there being ignored or not detected.

my thoughts race everyday, where i cant think straight…i lose train of thought….theres a 100 worries, thoughts, all racing through my brain at once….cant concentrate. cant organize..

my anxietys so bad ive isolated myself and are panicky about going out anywhere….only go out when i have to….im shut in…have low moods…no energy…struggle to clean or brush my teeth.

i panic and are startled at noises and people shouting,i feel hopeless & helpless…like theres no hope.
i have alot of anger, which went suppressed from extensive bullying growing up, i used to have aggressive outbursts
but i control it very well now…but still have alot of anger
that i sometimes find very difficult to control.

im having vivid scary night mares most nights.
im awake through the night and sleeping through
the day.
for along time ive had feelings like my lifes being
controlled and that people are plotting against me
and im being outcasted.

so with all these symptoms, i worry theres other things
going on other than boderline personality disorder.
and there not being detected and im not recieving the right
treatment.
like i said, they offered psychotherapy but the psychiatrist
wont give me meds because he said there addictive.

please, what do i do?
all i ask is:

if you think there are ‘other’ disorders going on for me other than borderline personality disorder….could you define what you think they are, and what treatment you think i should be getting?

You need to talk to your doctor about this. Please do not hesitate to bring up these other symptoms and what your concerns are.
    Best of luck to you.

to be honest i really don’t know what else u have , the only problem u have is low self-esteem and depression. go to your doctor to check , if u don’t than u are good and check about bpd , to check what u really have , so they can help u.

Only your doctor can diagnose you, but from the sounds of it, I think you might have anxiety and some depression. There are medications for both. The next you see your doctors insist they prescribe something for your symptoms or at least get an explanation of why they won’t prescribe you medications. Take it up with their superiors if you have to - complain to whoever will listen. The squeaky wheel gets the oil so to speak.

The racing thoughts is part of OCD–Obsessive/Compulsive Personality Disorder. It’s not uncommon to suffer from this as well as Anxiety/Panic disorder and Paranoid Schizophrenia all at the same time.

Having said that, those of us here at Y!A cannot accurately diagnose or recommend treatments. Furthermore, we’re only getting half the story here and I suspect that half is somewhat skewed.

You will need to trust your doctor; he knows what he’s doing. But give it time, since he has to play detective at finding out all the issues going on with you. Leave him clues. Help him solve the case.

O.K. now we are getting somewhere that you have given a little more detail. I agree with the person who said you have to trust the Dr. and we on yahoo cannot diagnose you. All we can do is try to give you information to help level out your thinking and hopefully give you some reassurance.

A couple of things. I think you have obsessive compulsive thinking & anxiety. I think you’re angry and that feeds paranoia. I think you have unrealistic expectations of people. I personally don’t believe in depending on drug treatments (although accept that in some situations when nothing else has worked drugs may be necessary)
I feel you would benefit from participating in behaviour therapy.
I think if you had better regular sleep you would be more able to stabilise your thinking. I believe the power to heal ourselves is inside all of us. Our bodies are created to be self protecting and self healing - you need to get your thinking in touch with your own abilities. Start to believe that you can get better. And when you do believe that, you need to do all that you can to discipline yourself.
You have said nobody will help you and then you say you have been offered therapy. I have read hundreds of helpful careing messages to you. DO THE THERAPY It’s not scary, but you will have to face up to the way you are allowing yourself to think. Life for all of us is a series of choices and behaviours. We have to take those opportunities and face up to whatever fears and obtacles present themselves. Nobody can do it for you. We all go through suffering, fear, abuses, setbacks. We either choose to get past the issues or stay stuck in the pain/suffering. You have to be prepared to take on the responsibility for getting better. That means being 100% honest with yourself and to challenge the things you think, to see if they are true or not with proof. Keeping a journal is a good start and getting sleep patterns back to normal (sleeping at night) and being active during the day. Have you tried learning breathing techniques? This really works for calming anxiety & racing thoughts.
It seems there are many issues you are facing - you need to be prepared to work on them one day at a time and expect it to take some time. Do not worry about what other people think of you - We are all judged by others and it hurts so focus on you getting better and when you do good give yourself a pat on the back. Remember: The Power Is Within You.
