Does anyone know where I can find a preceptor for respiratory therapy in NC?
I am taking online classes for a degree in respiratory therapy through Independence University. I have to find a hospital, home care agency, etc. for my clinicals. I need find someone (a RT) who is willing to take me in as a student. Has anyone else been in a situation like this or can help.

You need to contact your school to see where they recommend you go: ask where they’ve sent their past students, what you’ll be allowed to see, what you can be expected to take from the experience and which areas of the hospital you can visit (due to HIPAA acts, nonprofessionals aren’t allowed in certain areas).
Also, call the respiratory therapy departments in the hospitals in your area. Speak with the department director and inquire about shadowing for a specific period of time, hours, etc.
