How long will I be in school to be a psychiatrist?





i just want to know how many years. thanks for any help!

    around 4 for undergrad
    around 3 for masters
    around 4 for doctorate
    thats an average of 11 years total

    psychiatry is a medical field. you have to get an MD (bachelors + med school + med residency = more than 10 years)

    if you wanna be a psychologist it’ll be a much shorter ride in school

    First undergraduate (pre-med), around 4 years.
    Then med school, 4 more years
    Finally, you have to specialist in psychiatrist, 2,3 years

    Well a psychiatrist requires first and foremost 4 yr medical to be able to write prescriptions, then from there I believe it is 2-4 yrs depending on what discoveries you what to focus in on-such as chemical dependency, disorders etc…
