If I wanted to be a psychiatrist, does university of tennessee have classes for that?





so i wanna be a psychiatrist and i need to know what classes to take in high school, and how college would work? do i just take 4 years of whatever then go into a school for psychiatry?

    You would get a bachelors degree in preferably a science, then go to medical school for four years (you learn everything, there is no specialization). Then you would do a residency for 4-6 years where you work in a mental hospital or ER (or other places) and THEN you can go out on your own. You need a lot of biochemistry.

    To become a psychiatrist, you need 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, and 5 years of residency in psychiatry. You can do your first four years of college anywhere, including UT.
