If life’s meaning is to survive and pass on our genetics, then what am I here for?

If life’s meaning is to survive and pass on our genetics, then what are we here for?
Countless people have told me when I asked them what the meaning of life was they responded, "To mate and carry on the human population." Honestly, I kind of believe them. It makes sense. It’s in our truest nature to. Everything else is surviving for reproduction to be able to work. Is happiness really ours? Are we really hear to be happy or is it just our self-awareness that makes us believe so? I’m gay and this concept kind of saddens me because I would love to marry a woman and have kids but I am not attracted to women whatsoever and that is what isn’t fair. In our most fundamental purpose is to procreate and yet I cannot procreate with a man so I’m wondering if happiness should be thrown aside and put my natural meaning into play? I don’t acknowledge God as anything because I don’t know if he exists or not so I am not religious. So if God is not real then our sole purpose would to be what our bodies are made to do and that is make offspring and everything else is just human ego [happiness, sadness, ect.] I really don’t want to believe this and I did not get this from any homophobic publication I concluded this all by myself. I’d like to hear intelligent answers and not just biased answers. I want to know if I am truly ****** up and pointlessly living? I want a purpose in life but everything I make meaningful to me in life is masked by this concept I have. Why am I here? Why do I deserve to be happy, and why can I not find women sexually attractive instead of men? What do you think? Should I just admit myself into an insane asylum or take up psychotherapy? Should I just jump off a bridge into the depth of nothing but the ending of a dysfunctional human being?
Sorry about the "we’s" I posted this on the LGBT section before.

Meaning implies that someone must exist to assign that meaning. Scientifically, there is no meaning to life. Through evolution we have come to be what we are. This in no way implies that this is what we’re meant to do.

If you must assign yourself a meaning similar to this, think of yourself as promoting the continuation of human genetics by preventing overpopulation.

Oh, and I’m gay, too. Just enjoy it :) You don’t need a meaning in life to enjoy life, and stop worrying so much. You’re normal and just fine.

Your ultimate meaning is to bring glory to God. Also, to know the Lord as your savior. Please read below to see what I mean

How Well Do You Know God?
Guess what? God loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you forever.

Your heavenly Father also has a special plan for your life. He gives us this promise in the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, chapter 29 verse 11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” God created you to have a relationship with Him. He wants you to grow close to Him now and spend forever with Him in heaven after you die.

But one thing separates us from a relationship with God … sin. If you’ve ever done something wrong, then you know about sin. Sin is disobeying God and the Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all [that means us!] have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

Romans 6:23 explains that the punishment for sin is death—separation from God in hell forever. No matter how hard we try, we can’t save ourselves. We can’t earn our way to heaven by being good, going to church, or getting baptized. That’s the bad news.

But don’t worry! God loves us so much that He sent his only son, Jesus, to earth. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life and then died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins (Romans 5:8). Three days later, He came back to life and now He lives in heaven.

In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.” To reach God and live in heaven after you die, you must accept Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord.

To accept Jesus as your Savior, simply talk to God and admit that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised from the dead, and give Him control of your life.

Here is an example of a prayer that will help you know what to say:

Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner and that my sin separates me from You. I realize that I can’t do anything to earn my way into heaven. I believe that Jesus took the punishment for my sins by dying on the cross and coming back to life. I accept Him as my Savior and Lord. And I will try my best to please You all the days of my life. Thank You for forgiving me and saving me now. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

If you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you can be sure He heard you. The Bible says, “Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). You have just begun a relationship with God and you will definitely spend eternity in heaven with Him!

If you made a decision to follow Jesus Christ today, please let us know and we will e-mail you a brochure to assist you in finding a church home.

By the sounds of it, you would like a family, so if you adopt, you would still be achieving the goal of successful reproduction. The goal is to rear healthy children into adulthood. Just because you didn’t sire a child, doesn’t mean you can’t be instrumental in its becoming a functional, successful adult. If that’s what we’re trying to do, you can still help.

Humans have an inability to accept their reality. We always question higher forces and if what we know is true and so on. Trying to get to the bottom of the meaning of life is like trying to teach a rat trigonometry, it just is improbable. So you’ll just have to make the best of your situation. Do what makes you happy, and who knows? Maybe you’ll be presented with an opportunity to find a real meaning to everything and if you find it take it. Everything we know could be a lie for all you know. Even perceptions sights, sounds, you, me, all of it. So you should do the world a favor and stay alive so as to increase our chances of finding the truth if their even is such a thing. Also food for thought, I’ve heard of china, and the middle east, but never truly seen, heard, tasted, smelled, or felt either. Do they exist or are the images on television fabrications?
