Is anyone out there a psychiatrist or counselor?

I’m doing a career exploration paper. I need to know everything a psychiatrist or a counselor does. Tell me what your day consists of and how much money are you making??? write a description of your career.

A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor (MD or DO). A psychologist is a therapist with a doctorate degree (PhD). They can not prescribe medications.

Psychiatrists do not do therapy, they focus on "clinical or chemical imbalances" of the brain. They dispense medication to help balance these chemical imbalances.

Psychologists are therapists. They are much like MSW (Master of Social Work..but with a higher level of education.

HMO’s generally predict how much each with make. Unfortunately. Many are having to get out of the field, as the malpractice insurance and many HMO"s only paying $30 per visit to see a Psychiatrist, make it impossible to for us to stay in practice.
    Hope this helps.
