Is there a way to get free online therapy?

I need therapy but i don’t want my parents to know or get involved, so the only way to get that is free online therapy. does that even exist?

I did a ‘Yahoo Answers search’ in the ‘Search Answers box, above. I typed in, ‘free online therapy sites’, and the search results showed 30 questions on this topic, with lots and lots of sites shown in the answers, to choose from.

Probably not, but I get a lot of support from a website called psychcentral.com.

Honey, nothing in this world is free. Sorry. However, if you’re in school you can see the school social worker/school psychologist. Your tax dollars pay for that, so you wouldn’t have to worry about the money. And unless the school calls your house to let your parents know, they won’t find out. Just ask the school therapist to keep it between you and him/her, they want you to feel comfortable talking to them after all so he or she should honor your request. Best of luck to you.

I somewhat take back what I said. There IS this website: http://www.stressgroup.com/home.html

At first the services are free, they tell you to pay when you are ready. Try that website and speak to someone. They won’t make you pay until you’re ready, so that means that initially you can speak with someone for free, like as a consultation. That’s a start at least.

This site offers free counseling online, but you do have to provide personal information and it is from a Christian church. I personally am an atheist, but there have been times I’ve contacted them and they’ve been helpful. Other times they are pushy with the religion. If you can put up with that it is a good resource. Or if you are Christian I think it would probably be pretty good.

    http://www.newhopenow.org/index.cfm

It is the only free site I’ve found, and it is more for kind of crisis situations. It isn’t for regular therapy with the same person every time. So this probably isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, but maybe it can help someone else who happens upon this question.

    Good luck.
