Is there such thing called Online Free Therapy?

I really need a place to take to, and I don’t have any therapy places around where I live.! So I was wondering if anyone has any sites for free online therapy.!
Or like a support group online or something like that.???

    Hi,

As part of an internship for my Masters in Counseling Psychology, I am currently offering Free Online Therapy at PsyShrink eTherapy and Private Practice. I am also running a Free Online Therapy Group for Women, which starts on Wednesday the 25th of August at 7pm (Central European Summer Time) and runs for 4 consecutive weeks.

The first step would be to go to the website and book in for a Free Psychological Needs Assessment. You can do this on the bookings calendar at https://www.mybookingcalendar.com/PsyShrink. This way we can find out which psychological services will best suit your needs.

For more information on the free services being offered, please go to http://www.psyshrink.com/online-therapy_therapy.html

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

    Take Care,
    Klara

I wouldn’t type anything you don’t want other people to read online…
    internet isn’t a safe place!

Be careful of anyone who is too friendly. Remember not to give any personal info. See if you can hook into a church in your area that has self help groups. It’s not all about religion and maybe they can steer you in another direction. Sometimes if you contact the Salvation Army they may be able to help.

There are many, many support groups. Here are a few for various conditions–I’m not sure what your mental health issues are.
    http://www.schizophrenia.com:8080/jiveforums/category.jspa?categoryID=4 : Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective
stuckinadoorway.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7 : OCD primarily, also general anxiety and some depression
http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?nav=messages&webtag=ab-bipolar : Bipolar, so mania and depression
Crazyboards.org has a chat room that has many people with experience with the mental health system, and who have varying mental illnesses.

Yes, there is Free Online Therapy available, however they usually aren’t as easy to find as Paid Psychological Services. I recommend narrowing your search to meet your Psychological Needs:

e.g. if coping with Anxiety & Panic Disorders check out:

    http://www.paniccenter.net/
    http://www.socialanxietysupport.com/
    http://www.anxietypanic.com/supportgroups.html

Probably your best bet at getting truly free online psychological services, that deliver real benefits, are through university programs and recent psychology graduates that are offering their services for free, e.g. as part of an internship etc.

Also, worth checking out are the free online psychological services offered at:

    http://www.psyshrink.com/online-therapy_therapy.html

Besides their usual paid services, they also offer Free Psychological Needs Assessment and Free Online Group Therapies through their Counseling Psychology Intern, Klara Jaeger.
