OGDEN UTAH & SURROUNDING AREA RESIDENTS looking for a highly qualified therapist to help friend who has PTSD h

Have friend with PTSD, a dissociative disorder, & is self abusive, cutting, etc. When I needed help in the Ogden area all I got was locked away, drugged & committed. I finally stopped asking for help &did the hard work alone. I knew many who due to poor quality help, opted for suicide &died. Myfriend has been drugged, locked away & committed on & off for years; current theapist only into controlling &drugs. Needs real help; can’t afford to move. If you know of a really compassionate, highly qualified therapist not connected to McKay Dee/Weber County Mental Health; one that doesn’t use threats or committments, but teaches skills &believes in their patients, tell me about them, who they are, how much they charge &why you’d recommend them. My friend wants quality help; being poor all she gets it all the negative things psychiatry seems to offer poor people. I believe every human being deserves compassionate, quality help, not durgs &being committed. Please no joking, this is serious!

Look for a Christian therapist, trained like all the others, but their approach to helping her will be totally different. Some large Christian churches have therapy centers as well….so check around….ask Pastors of who they know…they can probably refer you to someone.

Try visiting the next large city nearby and you may be able to find a therapist there. Don’t give up and stay away from McKay Dee/Weber County Mental Health. You could also try looking on the internet.

In australia we have a mental health system that is free and there is a mental health clinic at most hospitals. if you have a free mental health service in your country try going to a hospital. ring around, even if you have to drive a ways im sure that you can find a clinic that will help. ring every hospital in the surrounding areas and see what you can find. If all else fails then take your friend to the accident and emergency at your nearest hospital and they can refer you on. best of luck to you, Sarah
