Psychodynamic - They say that you need to go through this therapy to really know yourself?





Is this true? I know Freud said that psychoanalysis was the only way to break through to the true self. Is this the only way? Also, if you don’t think this is, why would they think talking to someone would be the only way?

    I disagree. Words are imprecise, and often ambiguous in meaning. It was a self serving statement by a psychoanalyist.

    He also said at one stage that all female children are abused.

    I think he abused cocaine for too long!

    its not the only way, meditating on your life’s situations and how you react to them can sometimes help you learn to know yourself… realize your patterns… if your familiar with computer coding, our mind functions like a huge and complicated flowchart… if you figure out whats on the flowchart, you figure out yourself
    they say talking to someone is the only way because they want to keep their job… no more patients=no more money
