The most common and effective form of psychotherapy for depression currently is CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy. The cognitive part refers to working on how you think, or more specifically, the conversation you have with yourself, while the behavioral part is about changing how you act. Research has also shown that CBT alone, or for that matter, medications by themselves or lifestyle changes by itself is not as effective as all of them together.
