Should lonely miserable people who have treatment resistant depression end their misery?

I was thinking suicide. I used to enjoy hiking in nature a lot but now I cant seem to enjoy it.
I have not had freinds or a gf for 7 years and people at my job are picking at me calling me gay slurs.

No! Don’t give up! Maybe the answer doesn’t lie in medication. Find some new friends, try something new and ridiculous you’ve always wanted to try. Make a "top 100" list of things to do and go do it! If you’re lonely, learn to entertain yourself without other people!

when he says end his misery he isnt talking about doing something that makes him happy to end it. unless killing yourself makes you happy, cuz that is what he means, and really depression is all psychological and alot of peoplee go through it, mostly mild cases but you jus need to get to a better place in life to feel better. Now i dont mean literally find a better place to be i mean with yourself you need to find understanding within you. find out who you really are, because a depressed person isnt who you really are, it’s just a product of everyday life which changed the actual you to who you are right now.

I came across Anthony Robbin’s name when I was 18 years old, almost 12 years ago when I first picked up one of his motivational books. Before then I was a very shy girl, never had any friends in school and was the worst student in my classes so I hated the school. In the family, I was known as the super quiet girl who never talks. My parents were getting a very nasty divorce and my 3 little brothers and I were supposed to stay with my dad who was working in another city and was never home. According to my country’s Muslim law, child custody is with the father regardless. My brothers were very restless and violent according to what they saw at home and I was supposed to take care of them, and I must say they had no respect for me or each other.

In the school, I was never given any authority based on my quiet and timid personality. So taking charge of three younger energetic brothers was way out of my abilities. At the same time, I was supposed to enter the university and in order to do that, I had to pass a vey hard accumulative exam which was again another burden.

Tony Robbins changed me beyond imagination. After reading his book, I was so excited that I read a couple of more of his books. I just wanted to know more, it was like I was thirsty and he was giving me the drink of life. In a newspaper ad, I found a conference based on Tony Robbins teachings conducted by another guy, I jumped off for the occasion and attended all those classes and bought CDs and all the available materials.

The first lesson I learned from him was the importance of goal setting and the correct way to do it. I picked up my diary and started writing about what I wanted. I learned from him that if I have been living a certain way until now, it doesn’t necessarily mean I have to do it today and tomorrow too. I gained the authority I wanted to sit down and talk to my brothers about our situation and what we could do to end up having a peaceful and successful future, they enjoyed the new me and we became super brothers and sister. I passed the exam, entered the university with a total new prospective of who I am and what I want to be, I became very outgoing, social and super popular in the university. No body needed to know who I was before I knew Tony.

From then on, I have dedicated my life to learning more and more about him and his teachings. With the power of magical mind, I managed to get out of my country, went to England, did my Master’s, got married, came to USA, my dream land with permanent resident card, have a wonderful baby, a self-business and PhD in Genetics with straight A marks. I helped my brothers do the same thing and I am so proud of their success. After giving birth to my baby, I managed to drop the weight and I am doing modeling part time as no one can guess my age. I travelled the world and still have so many wonderful plans for the future.

I have had too much obstacles along the way, too many disappointments and problems that could kill a person’s motivation, but with committing myself to being a dedicated Tony Robbins lifetime student, nothing could ever stop me from enjoying my life. I am constantly setting new goals, getting excited about them and moving forward with super energy. I am constantly having fun every moment of everyday with the curiosity of a child. I have so many amazing friends nationally and internationally that I love so much and they love me so much. My inner peace is always there creating every next step of the way.

I can not imagine my life without those trainings, how ordinary or disappointing it could have been if I never knew who Anthony Robbins was. I have all this vital energy, all this inner joy because of him. I love the world and the people in it. Every person has become like a unique diamond worth respecting and exploring. I agree with you Chris. Lonely and miserable self is not the real you. It is something you acquired at some point in your life’s journey. It is just a belief system. You change that belief system and you will not be feeling anymore.

I don’t know any painless methods though.
