So am I part Spanish?

Ok, I was born in London, UK, but my parents are from the Philippines. I have a Spanish surname, starts with "de". My grandpa told me that his grandpa was a Spanish counsellor and that he had four wives, woah! He even wrote out a family tree of all my ancestors he could remember.

Does this make me part Spanish?
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm going to try and find out more about my ancestry when I go to the Philippines this xmas.

I'm creating a family tree with the info my grandpa has written and give it to him as a present. :)

Yes! My hubby's grandpa was Spanish. One of my Kids is dark hair, eyes, skin and the other 2 kids have blond hair & blue eyes. Here in the states we are all "Heinz 57" (a joke meaning like the 57 ingredients of the famous steak sauce). My kids are Spanish, Irish, French, German, American Indian, Scotch Irish, and English. My married last name is German but, I don't have a drop of German blood in me. Everyone came from Africa way back when.

Probably, so what? It's who you are that counts, not who your ancestors were.

Yes, you are, and congratulations on being able to trace your ancestry.

PLEASE take this opportunity to find out as much from your grandfather as possible: the eldest in my family have either passed on or has alzheimer's and we've lost a great deal in not having recorded personal histories and stories when we had the chance!
