Sucking Thumb at Five Years Old After Disciplining?
Our son goes to school with a boy who has a little brother. His parents ar e professional people and his mother works in psychiatry. I note that when his mother tells him off both boysstart sucking their thumbs! She does not shout or scream at them but she does speak quite menacingly when telling them off.
What do you make of this?

its a comfort to them… they have obviously sucked their thumbs since infancy, so when they feel stressed out, resorting to something they have done since infancy is comforting to them, because its very familiar…
