And specialize in forensic psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine too?
I was thinking of attending the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine far off into the future because of its 3 year accelerated med school program and I was just wondering.
Thank you for all your answers.
If I get a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine can I still become a psychiatrist?

Is it possible to have more than two fellowships for a psychiatrist?AKA 2 sub specialties?
October 20, 2010
And if it is,would it even be possible to work both of them?
The two subspecialties/fellowships I’m both incredibly interested in are forensic psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine.Would it be possible to be both a psychosomatic medicine specialist while being a forensic psychiatrist specialist as well?I wouldn’t mind working incredibly hard if that’s the case for both [...]
Licentiate exists in psychotherapy, is recognized? In that you depart from the world? Is it less important?
October 16, 2010
THE LICENCITURA IN PSYCHOTHERAPY IS. I AM FOR DOING IT BUT NOW I WAS ENTERED(APPROACHED) BY DOUBTS OF WHICH SO RECOGNIZED IT(HE,SHE) IS (AND MORE HERE IN ARGENTINE) AND IF IT(HE,SHE) IS LESS THAT TO BE A PSYCHOLOGIST, OR PSYCHIATRIST OR THAT). THE PSICOTERAPIA I SEE IT AS AN INTERVAL BETWEEN(AMONG) PSYCHOLOGIST (WHO HELPS WITH [...]
Isn't this Psychotherapy wrong? Infridgement of privacy!?
October 11, 2010
So I was going to this Mental Health place (Jewish Board of Family and Health Services) for help. That is where my mom goes to. Her Therapist is the Manager there. Anyway I wrote my total probles on a paper because I have some Cognitive Dysfunction so I would forget and I also have Anxiety. [...]

Psychiatry vs Psychology?
September 11, 2010
I want to go into the psychology/psychiatry/psychoanalysis degree, but I’m not sure whether to go for psychiatry or psychology.
I think I’m leaning more to be a psychiatrist, but I like how in psychology you can do more treatment and therapy with people and deal with more cases other than psychiatry where your main task is [...]
What do I need to know about Psychotherapy and Psychiatry? (I'm in AS level right now)?
August 15, 2010
Hi,
I’m in year 12, taking biology, chemistry, psychology, maths + statistics and critical thinking. (My target grades set by the school are all A’s and one B in the summer)
I have a few questions:
1) What’s the difference between the two? (Content related and what the jobs actually do?)
2) What would be the average salary difference?
3) [...]
How do the careers of doctors compare between the U.K. and the U.S.?
April 25, 2010
I’m a medical student in the U.S., but considering moving to London after I’ve completed my training (most likely internal med. or psychiatry). I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to the career differences within the two countries (please, no health care politics). I’m looking for [...]
Do We Need Psychology When We Have Psychiatry?
March 11, 2010
I am a psychology major and would like to become a doctor of clinical psychology, so i figured that trying to work out any issues i have with the field, may be a healthy process.
So, if we have a field of medicine which can treat, quite well, many of the most severe psychological disorders, do [...]
Psychiatry = scalpel? Please help!?
February 11, 2010
I’ve read the steps to becoming a psychiatrist, but there’s something I really need cleared up.
See, I’m smart, but physically obtuse. Seriously, it’s like I have two left hands. I understand that to become a psychiatrist, I’d have to attend medical school, but I was wondering: would I have to actually do the [...]
im planning to be a psychiatrist, but i heard that i should complete medical school first?
January 24, 2010

What are your views on psychiatry?
December 30, 2009
good or evil?
or does it depend on the psychiatrist.
FACT: psychiatry is becoming more and more dangerous to society. is that because of the selfishness of the evil doctors? psychiatric medicine has got to go.
it is all brainwashing. if you are a vulnerable person than go for it… but those of [...]
Best field to major in? (Medical)?
December 26, 2009
I’m in 10th grade, and have wanted to be in medicine basically all my life haha
Right now I’m thinking Psychology, maybe Psychiatry (but that’s 4 more years) a full fledged doctor, general practice, and a P.A.
Which is the best in terms of jobs open, years of school, competition..
Please and thank you
Psychology vs. Psychiatry? What should I major in?

I heard that psychology involves more with talking with clients directly, and often for non-severe issues like daily stress, teenage angst problems, etc etc
while a job as psychiatrist is prescribing medicine
is that true? dude I don’t want to just prescribe medicine or just talk with people. I want to do both. I heard psychiatrists also [...]
