    Psychiatrists, as doctors, need to prepare for the road to Medical school. In high school, make sure you take plenty of science courses and go above the minimum in math as well (I think the premed requirements in college ask for math through calc ii). As people above have mentioned, AP psych can’t hurt, however psychiatry and psychology are very different. One is a science the other is a social science. Work on getting into a good univeristy, and from there fulfill the premed requirements, have an excellent gpa, and score well on the mcat.

    i would say a lot of english classes or any social science. when you get to college(at the advance level), a lot of the psychology courses will challange you to write effectively. A lot of my friends are psychology major and that’s what they do.

    Enroll in IB (International Baccalaureate). This is the best available preparation for the rigors of university.
