Psychiatrists, as doctors, need to prepare for the road to Medical school. In high school, make sure you take plenty of science courses and go above the minimum in math as well (I think the premed requirements in college ask for math through calc ii). As people above have mentioned, AP psych can’t hurt, however psychiatry and psychology are very different. One is a science the other is a social science. Work on getting into a good univeristy, and from there fulfill the premed requirements, have an excellent gpa, and score well on the mcat.

Enroll in IB (International Baccalaureate). This is the best available preparation for the rigors of university.
