What high school classes should I take to become a psychiatrist?
So…I’m going to be a junior in high school and I really want to become a psychiatrist when I’m older. Maybe a psychologist but I’d rather be a psychiatrist. So anyways, I’m wondering if their are any specific high school classes I should take. I’ve already taken psychology, and biology…and this year I’m in AP psychology and chemistry (idk if that’ll help..) Not to mention all of your basic courses. But yeah….any suggestions?? Advice would be much appreciated!

There isn’t much more you can do in high school besides what you are already taking. If your school offers Sociology, that would probably help as well. Just do well in science and social studies classes, wait until college.

High School doesn’t matter. All that matters is what your GPA is at the end, your SAT score, and what college you get into.

Take any health related classes. Overall high school classes don’t matter. Just keep a high GPA and an even higher HPA. To get into a good college you should take a lot of AP classes, AICE classes, and Honors classes

Check out the other side to psychiatry, and THEN make a decision on what you want to do for the rest of your life. I know you want to help - but there are more effective ways to do that then follow a mock-science that has been around for years and has never managed to cure someone.
