Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been proven to work for many cases. Exposure therapy is very effective. However it takes a lot of commitment from the patient. Here is some info on Exposure therapy. I really think that you ahould talk over your options for treatment with a proffesional. However, it doesn’t hurt to learn about your options beforehand, Good luck. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1890846/how_exposure_therapy_works_for_treatment.html?cat=5
I just wanted to add that medications can absolutely help if you need them. I just believe that exposure therapy is a very good option and can even be combined with medication and psychanalysis.
